I recently bought a Sony DSC-TX5 and was so seriously disappointed for how much I paid for it. The image quality is very lacking, the paint is flaking off the metal after day 2, the battery door doesn’t close well and continues to give me a error message when turned on, and it really looks like the little medal piece on the front that slides over the lens and flash to protect it is starting to lift away from the camera body and is already starting to warp. I haven’t taken it out of the box more than 2 times, never touched water with it… hate to see how this water, freeze, dust and shock resistant camera holds up to the real thing.
Not to mention you have to open the battery door just to get to the port to transfer pictures to your pc and if you’re like me and do this everyday, that is seriously annoying.
My old Kodak Easyshare that came with a dock took better photos and that’s sad. The only thing this camera has going for it is the video was pretty good. I still don’t know about image stabilization being present in this camera, didn’t seem to help much and the 10 picture burst with anti-blur… LOL. I slowly moved my hand outstretched in front of the camera and out of all 10 pictures only 2 were clear/semi-clear images, still poor quality though.
Returning this camera tomorrow and getting my money back, minus the 15% restocking fee they demand.

Someone PLEASE help me choose a point and shoot, compact digital camera that takes:
1) Great image quality
2) Good Low Light Image Quality
3) Decent Video
My sister has a old Nikon that looks pretty good, but trouble is that I can’t seem to find the Older Models/Reasonable prices and I am really just so dang frustrated now… been researching for days now and even more confused.

From what I seen I will be choosing from Nikon Coolpix, Canon Powershot, Panasonic Lumix, etc. but I have no idea what is the best model within 0-0.

Please help
Thanks
