When I say cheap, I mean like really cheap, under between 20 and 50 dollars.

I’m thinking about buying a camera for summer and i was hoping to receive some opinions on which cameras are the best
I am going camping at Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria, Australia, so I will be in the bush and right by some beautiful beaches.
I am going down this year to celebrate new years with plenty of family and friends, and I really want to remember this year

The Camera I want should be able to take magnificent photos of my family, friends and I, aswell as beautiful photos of our camping activites, and of course, delightful photography of beach sunsets.
But, I also want to be able to film movies this year, and i would really love to be able to take pictures and movies whilst under or splashing around in water.
The camera would need to be tough as well, considering all the places it will be going. I am hoping that it won’t be effected by sand or dirt, and can resist drops onto the ground or rocks.
I also want a long battery life, because there isn’t many places I can charge the camera, so long life would be really appreciative

A long and needy wishlist, I know, but with your brilliant expertise I think we can find something
Once again, my camera will need:
High megapixels for great photos
HD filming
Underwater photos and movies
Tough and shock resistant
Fairly long battery life
and of course, room for a huge memory card

Also, if I have forgotten any key features you think I could use, please let me know

Is it water resistant, dust or heat or whatever weather resistant? I seen a video of a guy using it in the rain but it made me wander because he didn’t have the camera on so i was just wandering.

P.S.-I know its not full water proof but is it weather, like rain proof?

We’re looking for a good reliable family camera. We’re no professional, so we’re not very picky. So, which one of the two is better? I really like the fact that the TX10 is everything proof but I’ve read a few review saying that it’s not actually waterproof, but only water resistant (wet=okay, underwater=not okay) and also I read that it takes a loooong time to turn on/take a picture or a video. I don’t know how long it takes the WX10 to turn on or take a pic/vid so if anyone owns it, your opinion is very much welcomed. What I like about the WX10 is it’s optical zoom (7x. the tx10 only has 4x)

Help please! I am a high school girl wanting a watch phone so bad! I just recently found out that in this world, watch phones do exist! (FYI I thought these kinds of things would only be in movies) Anyways, when I found out, I looked into these watch phones and I thought they were pretty cool. Now I really want one.

Not only do I want one xD, but I feel it is more suitable for my needs.

So for one thing I don’t want to be running around with a phone in my hand when I am training for my sport over the summer. Water resistant watch phone is a biggie! I will be sweating (of course) so I don’t want my phone to be soaked in my sweat and die out on me. LOL

ok hears the scenario theirs a ship wreck 350 ft below the surface ,you send a camera down and see the a buch of old wine vets for transporting wine ,the big clay type roman jugs maybe a thousand years old,ok here’s the idea i take like a plumbers snake one like used to view in the sewer drains it has a built in light camera lens and has been made water resistant it has a slightly robotic end for flexing and moving the end of the snake Robotics from the surface it is 400 ft long also on the end an inflatable bladder it is inflated from the surface,once the snake enters the open mouth of the wine jug like putting a hand in a small moth jar closing you had and raising you hand and up comes the jar ,what do you think would this be an easy less expensive system used for recovery for this specific type of artifacts with open mouth containers.(the brain child.)

Im asking this because the Casio website says some gshocks are water resistant. My friend (she has one) keeps telling me its water proof, and I keep telling her its not the same thing, but i want to make sure. And she’s been bragging because I got a waterproof camera that goes 10ft underwater, and she says her gshock (200m) goes farther underwater without any harm done, and I dont believe its true because why would someone wear a watch 200m (365 or so feet) underwater, I dont even think anyone has been that deep, well unless theyre proffesional divers or something. Anyways yeah please help ?

Pentax claims that k-5 has 77 weather seals on its body and it provides a detailed drawing in this regard, whereas Nikon simply says D7000 has great level of weather protection.

I watched some videos of k-5 on youtube where the camera was submerged or subject to shower without any ill effect. I only saw one video of D7000 where it was subject to water splash from a wave while filming on the board of a yacht. Honestly the videos of k-5 really creates the effect of “wow, this camera is really water resistant!”, but I cannot say that for D7000.

My question is, although not officially disclosed by Nikon, do you know how many weather seals are available on D7000’s body? Also, do you believe that D7000 can be as water resistant as k-5 to the extent that it will sustain after the same tests k-5 was subject to in the videos available on youtube?

PS. Please do not digress, e.g. by stating that lens needs to be weater sealed as well or etc. My question only concerns body.
